A Place in Displacement

24 Mar
So I am through with my exams. Booyeah.
There are so many things I want to do now that they are over so  I am actually thinking of making a clone of myself. There are so many places to see, things to learn, clothes to wear….

I realized that over a past few I have taken this blog to shallower place by ranting on about useless things that people don’t give a fuck about so now I am going to write some nice shit and make reading the posts a little productive (starting from next post)!
Posting outfit pictures had really been a priority but somehow I dont get the idea of flaunting what you wear and grinning stupidly at the camera though I love people who can actually carry it! No grudges but I feel awkward. I dont want to be those typical bloggers who waxes on about how Karl inspires them and write about how they dream about owning a Louboutin and put ‘Fashion changes, style remains’ *spaz* *spaz* on their column. Maybe I am just frustrated.
Elliot Smith OWNS music. I just want a world which is dominated by artists like Bon Iver, Laura Marling, Bombay Bicycle Club (sans the hipster-ness), Iron and Wine and of course, Elliot Smith. The Beatles or even Pink Floyd gave music so much free love and an actual definition! I would love to live in the sixties. 21st century is a bitch.

On another note, here are some things I am planning to do now that my exams are finally over and I can breathe and wash my hair for a change and get some sleep.
  • Take an Adobe Photoshop Tutorial
  • Enroll into french lessons
  • Look for an INTERNSHIP!
  • Buy the Mac Liner + Steve Maddens + The Fashion Book which I have been eying for a month
  • Read Steve Jobs Biography + The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
  • Watch Midnight in Paris
  • Catch up with Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars
Yeah that’s that.
PS- Just saw Jeux d’enfants which was like the most amazing film ever! Guillaume Canet is officially my favorite actor.

People hearing without listening, People writing songs that voices never share

3 Apr

So here is another of my playlist (powered by Mixpod) which I am sharing.

Lucky (Jason Mraz feat. Colbie Cailat)-I discovered Jason Mraz on VH1 while listening to I’m Yours and fell in love with his voice immediately. Not much of a Colbie Cailat fan but I like her here a lot.

Pretty Babies (Karen Elson)- Do you remember the video I shared with you of Tom Ford’s collection? Well this is the song  which makes the video even more interesting. I was totally addicted to this song for a fortnight and after actually sabotaging the replay button, I have stopped (or not).

Hide and Seek (Imogen Heap-) I heard this song twice, once in The Last Kiss and then during The O.C. Season Two Finale (the part during Caleb’s funeral). It is very digital and interesting.

Suddenly I see (KT Tunstall)- I don’t even need to tell you from where I heard this song. Just three words- Devil.Wears.Prada.

California ( Phantom Planet)- The O.C. title song.

Love will come through (Travis)- I discovered this song while watching the trailer of Garden State (starring Zach Braff and Natalie Portman). I have yet to watch the movie but this song gives you feeling of swaying your head (I know I am weird).

Star Mile (Joshua Radin)- When the light and door to your room is close and the music is blaring through your headphones, this is the song to be played on loop.

Paperweight (Joshua Radin feat. Schuyler Fisk)- I found this song in Dear John. It is very soothing so I listen to it when I am REALLY annoyed.

The Only Exception (Paramore)- No explanation necessary

The Sound Of Silence (Simon and Garfunkel)- The song is played during the starting of The Graduate. It is quite the legendary songs of the sixties.

Our House (Crosby Still Nash and Young)- Another legendary sixties song which I heard through my dad.

So anyway these are my most coveted songs for this week. For next week I am going to Kallol Dutta’s show (the exciting thing I stated in my last post) and will be writing for Y Magazine. So I will hopefully post a lot of pictures here of the show and me (shocked much?). It will be fun.

That’s all for today!
