Fashion Moment

11 Jun

>

Stating that fashion is my life is corny but true. It is that iridescent light that shines upon my soul (which makes me poetic apparently). But there are three fashion moments which are crystal clear.
When I was a child, we used to go a particular mall because my parents somewhat loved it so we used to wind up there whenever we went shopping, The ground floor was a beauty counter which was filled with Givenchy, Maybeline, and Yves Saint Laurent which was rare in India at that time. The whole floor was rather boring for me that time but one day when I stepped down there and reached near the Burberry counter, I smelled a fragrance which I still have a whiff of in my nose. Normally I would quintessentially go over to play at the swings section but the smell of that fragrance and the joy I received when my mum bought it was beyond measure,
Last summer, the main reason I started my blog was because of the copy of British Vogue my sister brought for me from London. She did bring a bunch of other stuff but I read and re-read Vogue a thousand times before I announced that I wanted to be in this. Heck no, I wanted to write in it. To tell you the truth, I sucked at writing. I was vain and naïve and felt that fashion only revolved around what Jennifer Lopez wore at the Globes or what Kristen Stewart wore at some random awards. I am not saying that I am any better of a writer now but I have certainly broadened my horizons and know that fashion is so much more which I am yet to explore.
Two months back, I attended a fashion week for the first time. Previously, my fashion experience was only around the internet and writing whilst on my couch in a pair of pajamas. But when I reached there, I knew I was at the right place. The whole experience was a crazy dream. I had never felt so much excitement in one room.
What are your favorite fashion moments in your life?

Three is a crowd

Hello all!

So I caught the rerun of MTV Movie Awards since I was out when they were airing it live. It was yet another twilight event with all the major awards going to The Twilight Saga (REALLY?) whilst all of the celebrities rant about the irrevocable love they have for the series. I don’t even get it why the series are so popular. Bella Swan is caught between a vampire and a werewolf. A werewolf who is strong and muscled and a vampire who well, sparkles. So if you haven’t caught the awards there is no sorrow. All the major awards went to Twilight; the Foo Fighters performed and watch the exclusive trailers on Youtube.

Look at my muscles bitches! (Taylor Lautner)

I read the books watched the first two installments and occasionally drifted into sleep during New Moon. The first installment was nice, I believe. It was all artistic and the score was so impeccable but the next one was a shocker. It looked as if everyone had poured themselves into tubs of bronze concealor and had somewhat lost the ability to act. (FACT: The director of the first installment also directed Lords of Dogtown. Hence the awesomeness)
Anyhow, the MTV Awards were as predictable as hell so full disclosure: You do not need to watch it.
Those who read my blog (I lost all the followers due to the change in my blog domain. Oh Well) must know my fixation towards Burberry. I religiously stalk follow Christopher Bailey and the official website and jump if there is any recent news on Fashionista about the brand.
They have launched their Autumn Campaign. Even though we are practically melting over here (like 105 degrees) it is still nice to look at their bold backgrounds and faultless coats. They have introduced some new faces on their campaign which is quite appealing.

I have to go off and start with my homework which are schools give even in the vacations.

I want to scream at the top of my lungs

14 May

I know that an ideal blogger would probably just include in an random post that they would be interning this summer. But HECK! this is my blog! So I am actually giving it a whole post.

I have got a writing internship with this really cool site called emcBlue. I would be interning with college undergraduates and the site is based in New Jersey. I wanted to intern as a writer as first instead of going into Public Relations or something because writing is actually what I want to do at the end of the day. Also, I am not very good with people. My summer break started and my friends got all teary-eyed and went on going on about how they will miss each other and went on hugging each other and tryed to hug me (I hate hugging people) But I was all screaming about how I am going  ‘ home, bitches!’ and then started singing No Such Thing by John Mayer at the top of my voice. My friends seemed pretty miffed. Oh, well.

Back to interning.

So the internship is an online gig where I will be interning from this Sunday till the end of August and I will be required to write three blog posts per week for the site under fashion. Also I have been rambling about Faebric for quite sometime. I will also join the site officially as one of the contributors/editors (do we have to give it a name?!) . I have also been working with High School Pieces so I will be pretty much filled up this summer. I am also going to take up a sport again (I used to play soccer but there was to much of studying in ninth grade so I had to leave it). And I have my piano lessons lined up (I left it midway. Read above reason) So my poor blog is not left with a lot of time. No worries!

To Burberry now. They launched their new campaign called Burberry April Showers. See, Burberry has a style. I mean whenever I see their collection, I know that it is Burberry before it is even mentioned. Their iconic trenches, the rain, the umbrellas and the bags epitomized their collection this April.

It seems as if Christopher Bailey always reads my mind. The ad features the Burberry regulars- Cara Delevingne and Sebastian Brice and it is photographed by Jacob Sutton.

There is also this new advertisement by Yves Saint Laurent where they have commissioned with Black Swan’s director Darren Aronofsky. The ad is so meticulously detailed that it makes me watch it again and again. It has that certain seductive appeal and it is French. Well, French sums it all up.

Happy Summer!
